Mazandaran Earthquake Report:
On May 28, 2004 at 5:08 AM local time an earthquake with the magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale ocuured in Mazandaran. Mazandaran in located at north of Iran next to Caspian see. 35 people were killed and around 300 were injured. the quake unleashed landslides and falling boulders and many of the victims were drivers buried in theri cars while driving. The road from Tehran to Chalous (The center of the quake) riddled with large cracks, rocks and giant boulders. Many roads were blocked thus making the access to the affected villages difficult.
